It looks like AMD's new 7nm GPU for data centers is only going to work with Linux at first. At launch, AMD is only releasing x86-64 Linux drivers, with API support for OpenGL 4.6, Vulkan 1.0, and OpenCL 2.0, along with AMD's ROCm open ecosystem. AMD could release Radeon Pro branded graphics cards based on "Vega 20," which will ship with Windows and MacOS drivers.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

I wonder how those would crunch since they are designed for computation rather than gaming graphics.

Nobody uses Windows in data centers. Hyper-V and Linux are the operating systems of choice.

Wait for a consumer version to ship shortly down the road once AIB makers get some products ready.

I wonder if its complete lack of display output connectors would make connecting a monitor difficult.

    Silly clickbait title/thread.

It Can't Play Any Games: Radeon Instinct MI60 Has No Display Output Connectors

    Fixed the title.

It should do very very well with Milkyway with its double precision (DP) computations
I have a feeling the GPU will cost several thousands of $$$
From over at TaaT forums. Listing the best DP, Milkyway cards.

Again, the card's lack of display outputs is really the reason why it can't play any games.

The whole linux and crysis thing is just a click-bait trigger.

Read a couple days ago that AMD had the volta crippled during the tests to make the MI look better.  They had the tensor cores disabled.  They didn't try to hide it as it was pointed out in the footnotes but still.... marketing fudgery?  They responded to that being called out and stated a reason for them to be disabled.

Not faster (in FP32) since it's basically the same architecture, but it will be much faster in FP64

If it were an nvidia article I might have read more than the title.
