I gave up on XOC.  Profiles were not saving, crashing with auto-OC, manual OC settings would not change GPU.  I went with the Beta version of MSI afterburner and its been great so far.

My install file says 6.0.1, but the software still says 6.0.0. I have no idea where to actually get 6.0.1.

Same here... No matter how many times I reinstall the software, I cannot click "run" to automatically find the best V/F curve for my card. I really want to try this exclusive feature in EVGA overclocking utility but now I am disappointed.

Mine does 2000-2050 np. Raise power and temp limit and set  a custom fan profile.
What I'd like to know is how to save a profile. Right click to save, left click to load it says. DOesnt work. LEft clicking the profile just resets it all.
I gave up and use Afterburner.

Edit, oh you mean voltage curve, with the OC scanner...ya, I don't understand how it works. It claims to be "scanning" but it crashes the display driver /hardlocks the whole PC and asks if I want to continue, rinse repeat...I gave up on it.

I normally click on the profile I want to save to, and then right click. That normally does it for me.

Left clicking will select the profile, of course. make your settings/adjustments, and then right click the profile you are on, and it will save it.

I tried it as well as tried re-installing the drivers and programs. It kept crashing and would not save any settings including overclocks. I switched to afterburner and that worked.

    That's the thing...
The profile descript after right clicking on #1 or #2 or whatever is +0/+0 suggestitng it's not saving the ssettings and when I left click to load that profile it resets whatever I had set. Totally doesn't work.
Bad software is bad. You woulda thought they'd make it...not useless seeing how EVGA markets the 1080 with this software. Very strange. It works for overclocking but profiles...at least for me, don't work for squat. I'm not dialing in my overclock every time I start my PC.

This is my experience as well.  Same thing is happening when trying to save profiles.  It also automatically started the OC scanning process.  I am not sure if this is normal for this version of the software.  I also had crashing/locking up of the software when trying to make adjustments.

I really want to like it and use it but unfortunately it does not work as intended and it is not "user error"  :).  I am willing to give it another shot since I know this is a new version of the tool so I am sure there are some bugs and tweaks that need to be done.

He had succed to use the auto overclock. The solution is probably in the setting of the manual mode. min offset frequency, max offset frequency and step frequency.

Note that he is using a "reviewer version", which is different from the version downloadable on EVGA website...
I cannot even click the "run" button of auto OC...

I've had no luck with Precision X OC. The profiles won't save half the time and when they do they reset constantly. Extremely irritating, hope it's corrected soon.

    Version 6.0.1, btw.

MSI's beta AB seems to work better, though it's not extremely stable with the overvoltage either.

Done. Sorry about all of the extraneous system information, I just copy/pasted my rig profile.

    At least I didn't include my monitor type...or case...or keyboard...mouse...

When you first click on an "unsaved" profile, everything pretty much reloads at default "zero" settings. Once you make some changes, right click on the profile you currently are on, and it should save then.

Also, on the far left you can click on "start up", and that will make the software startup when windows starts.

I have used the beta of Afterburner after precision wouldn't work and while it does the job it doesn't save my profile and load it after reboot.  It says it is saved and set to start with windows....maybe the official release will work.

Yeah we definitely need a guide on how to use this.

So far I think the settings under GPU Offset should have a start and end that is reasonable (i.e. +100 to +200 in say 10 step).  I assume this will test values from 100 to 200, like 110, 120, etc.   It should recover for slight overboard but if you go too far, you'll freeze which sucks.

Correct me if I'm wrong.  I have yet to test this theory as whatever was there by default crashed my box hard.

Also, I see nothing related to memory tests, this seems just for GPU.
