As the title says, what temperature do the 10 series cards begin to throttle the core clock? I have seen my cards fluctuate about 50-100 MHz. Temperatures go about 60-70C. Using AB to monitor temperatures. I wonder if that's simply the fluctuating demands of the game, or if the card is throttling. Thanks.

GPU 3.0 throttles at around 72'c at least from what I can tell. My 2 1070's boost up to 1962 for my FTW2's which are much beyond it's normal boost speed. Try turning on your fan profile to full and see if it hammers down the downclock.

Here's the AB data with the core clock varying between 1898 and 1734:

The temp doesn't seem high enough to cause throttling, but that's my question.

I always see the first 13MHz drop in core clock at 45C.  ~every 5C after that another 13MHz drop.

my 1070FTW boosts at 2020mhz and then starts lower a bit like you said at 60-62°  in small steps as the temp goes up when using all @default (oc and fan)
try with PrecisonXoc to set the power target and the temp target to the max and set the priority to the temp target
it will keep the card boosted at max at higher temps, or at least it works for me

gpu boost is kinda annoying like that. you could probably slide your power to 120% and get some free boost out of your card though without even touching core clocks and such

True thermal throttling doesn't kickin until the card hits its max allowed temp. What you're experiencing is dynamic frequency control. Dynamic frequency control keeps the card as cool as possible at certain temp ranges by lowering the clock/voltage very slightly.

And I suspect that's also without appreciable change in performance as well. Thanks Sajin.

FYI, the decrease in boost starts really soon. At about 40 degrees or so. My FTW always starts boosting at around 2025 MHz and goes down from that to 2000-1967 MHz depending on room temperature and game.

I read on another forum that the throttling starts at 32C then every 10C after that.  Seems about right for me.
