At $1499 maybe if you really could use the extra ram but if you're talking AIB at $1600-1800+ likley not

Yeah that was my thought on it. It's at the point where if you have the money for the 3080ti you have the money for the 3090. I'd rather get the 12 extra gbs of Vram
$1339 for a ftw3 ultra is significantly more affordable than the $2000 you'll likley have to pay for any 3090 and the extra vram won't likley matter anytime before you'd likely want to get a newer faster card anyways. It's just like the days of titan vs xx80ti different names but similar scenarios. I always bought xx80ti and never a titan worked out my performance was always within spitting distance and massively cheaper.

Any guess what on what kind of numbers we may see ? For the Ti drop ? I’m thinking may be a bump due to lack of allocation for other sku ? Like cannibalizing parts from other lines to stretch availability? Or are we talking full blown paper launch? And still stuck on drop day with zero or little movement in around 6-7 months?

Yes considering you can. Sell the 1080Ti for 800-1000 right now on ebay. 3080ti/3090 is 2x the performance in games. 2x framerate. That is what I did.

It's a variety of things. I think the tariffs aren't as bad as some make it out to be. I think for every $1000 it was an increase of $50? Regardless, it was a combination of shutting down productions, super high demand for silicon with so many companies across the planet, not enough fabs, mining, etc. but at the same time, it's within the price gap of a 3080 and 3090 which seems like it was by design as it usually is.

I'm upgrading from a 1080ti as well. Trying to figure out how to make the cost hurt a bit less. I had three 1080ti's a little over a year ago when I was dabbling in mining. Sold two of them for $445 each. Wish I had held onto them for a bit longer!

Its priced high, but have wanted a 3080 since launch. EVGA notify never came through, never won a shuffle, and never got lucky at best buy even with notify groups.
Still stuck on this old 5700xt. Fingers crossed i can finally get a 3080ti.

Performance reviews for the RTX 3080 Ti kind of price it out of the market even at MSRP of $1199. EVGA will probably come in at $1300-1400 and really, the only way you can justify that over the RTX 3080 is if you can absolutely not get your hands on a 3080 or a 6800XT. I believe the 3070 Ti will offer much better performance for the price if it is $599 MSRP.
