hi all I have the EVGA 680i Sli MOBO and wanted to find out if this CPU will be compatible with the mobo

      Just read back in this forum for a few pages and you will see all the answers, or use the Search.
       Much quicker than waiting for someone with time to write it all out again for you.

      MB: 680i
      CPU: QX6700 @3200MHz
      RAM: 8GB OCZ @1066MHz @ 2.0v

      In short, no.  Like I have been told by many, you may get it to work, but it is not officially supported.  Here is a link to the Nvidia cpu compatibility list.

      The list doesnt include the Q8400 thats why I was asking.

      I tried to get a Q9400 to work on a 750i board with no success.  It's not on the list either. I also had been told many times that the 6XX series boards do not support the 45nm CPUs at all.

      With your board, your best bet is probably gonna be a E8500, E8600 or Q6600.  The Q6600 CPUs are getting hard to find though.

      Yeah I noticed that I have decided to go a new board and cpu. Going to get a P55 FTW 200 and a Intel core i7
