This my first build and I have a question about which slots I can populate on the motherboard. I have 4 sticks of 16GB ram and I have a big CPU cooler, Be quiet! Dark Rock Pro, that will cover some ram slots. So, I'd like to populate the slots that is nearest to the fan, according to the manual these slots would be 3,4,8,7, I do plan on adding another 4 sticks of ram later . The manual states that it is required to populate the odd slots first. Does that mean that I have to fill all the odd slots before I can fill the even slots? Will I have any issues if I populate slots 3,4,8,7 ?

Thanks

Yes you will have problems. The memory will not run at the speed it is designed to run. If you plan on adding more later, shouldn't you resolve the cooling issue now?

1-3-5-7 are where you must install your Memory with 4 Sticks as you have posted above.
You do have Low-profile Memory.

It's not required, but you will not get the benefits of 4ch memory as it will be running in 2ch mode.
