If I buy a RTX 2060 SUPER today, I can step-up to a 3080 or 3090 in 90 days?

I'm looking at the EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER XC BLACK GAMING, 08G-P4-3161-KR. If I get this today, I can step-up to a RTX 3080 or RTX 3090 in 90 days? That seems like a really good deal.

    Only if you purchase it new from a partnered retailer.

    i am thinking about doing the same. getting a 2060 and starting the step up and just rock on til i get the notice that its my turn

    You’ll be able to step up to something, but it’s not guaranteed you’ll be able to step up to a 3090. I’m stepping up from a 2080 Super and I was only given one option of 3080 (FTW3) to choose from. It says in their documentation that you can only step up to what is in the drop down menu, so there’s no way of actually knowing until you or someone else in the exact same situation start the process and see what EVGA offers.

    Honestly, I think this is the best way to get a new launch product now.  Seeing how much people struggle on this launch tells me if a new card is looming, put some money into the current generation within a reasonable timeframe and then stepup as necessary.  May not get the exact version of the card you want, but it has to be better than what we're seeing now.

    only thing is, by the time we actually get to our turn there will be stock avaialbe..fully expecting 1.5-3 months for 3080 step up

    Since i'm upgrading from a older card i'm ok with that. A 2080 Super for a few months is much better than what I had.
