Third try.. lol. So, I've slowly been learning PS CS5, and last night I discovered HDR toning. Now a while back I had taken a cloud picture at 1920x1080 to use as a background, but never liked the way it came out. So I toned it, and then I couldn't resist doing some rig pictures as well, and a rose just for fun. The cloud one is available via PM fullsize. Before on the clouds.. After... Now the rose.. And the rig pictures.. Let me know what you think, and any suggestions are welcome as are tutorials. New: Building shot..

Beautiful job man. Have you ever used any of the older creative suites? Im just wondering if it would be worth it to get the newest version but I doubt it. I am still on CS2.

This HDR toning im sure could be quite useful in creating signatures as well, the type of work I mostly do. Not to mention photo editing! I may just have to take a peek into getting CS5 !

Good work! The HDR tools in CS5 are a little limiting for creating HDR images from a single image with a single exposure. But, it does work. It isn't true HDR since this is impossible using one image, or even 3+ images with software altered exposure settings. However, a really good plugin for doing this a little more effectively and with more options is Topaz Adjust from Topaz Labs. I use their entire suite on a daily bases. You can download a fully functional demo from their site. Their tools can eliminate a lot of "blown out" spots and under exposed shadows and so forth. Just make sure your images are very clean and the levels are correct and Topaz Adjust works wonders. Samples. Keep in mind these are highly compressed for web use. The originals are very large 300dpi prints. Nvidia Design Garage: Probably bad examples, but I just pulled some photos, whatever I saw first on my server. lol

Some HDR is deliberately bad HDR because of the color palette the user picks. I prefer wide-gamot natural HDR, not odd off-color HDR examples.

One pic "HDR" is not true HDR.
