Okay so today I will show you how to turn on a power supply by jumping it:) *note I would recommend doing this on a cheap one or an old one:D*

Reason's to jump a power supply:
Run your video cards off just one power supply
If your using cold cathodes for desk lighting
only real one's i can think ofXD

What you will need:
Power supply(spare one)
Wire or paper clip
electrical tape
wire strippers
Switch(optional)

Step 1: Grad a power supply and wire(or paper clip) if using wire make sure to strip both ends a little bit. Then get the 24 pin power connection on the power supply. And insert one end of the wire into the whole with the black wire thats next to the green ground. (as shown below)

Then tape off the first wire to the wire's don't make contact(as shown below)
Step 2: Insert the other end of the wire into the whole with the green wire(also shown below) then tape it off::) Now flip the back of the switch on the power supply and it should power on:)

Step 3(optional): You can add a switch like shown below:)Just split the wire and and put each end to one pole of the switch:D I use this so I can hide my power supply and turn on my lights:)

Thanks for viewing and hoped this helped:D

Very good info here. I actually did it myself on my old one and still debating on whether or not I want to throw it in the mix of my rig. I would still need to find a good way to mount it into my pc and where to run the wall cable..

Would it be worth me trying to mount my 460watt powersupply in my rig? I currently have a 500 watt running everything..

If the 500w is a great quality you won't need another psu with that setup listed in your sig.

The 500w is a CoolerMaster eXtreme Power Plus 500watt.. http://www.compusa.com/ap...4465483&CatId=1079

With one video card, you don't need any more power. You will be just fine.

Thank you much for that link sgtharry! =P \

Edit: If I can get my hands on it I would like to try running my GTX460 SE as a dedicated phsyx card though.. So thats why I am also concerned about the PSU...

if you add a second card and a solid CPU OC I would either upgrade your current PSU or run the second GPU on another PSU..
