Hey rumor has it some GTX 1060 SC's use Samsung and some use Hynix VRAM. 
 
Is this true?
 
Is there any way to tell from looking at the serial numbers on the card or box?  Is there a utility to check?

    download hardwareinfo, I could be wrong but my amd showed up what brand easy, while the nvidia brand might not of been listed but its been a long few days so... ya know. Gimme a sec to check

    Thanks guys - I guess there is nothing on the outside of the card to look at and tell - I have a quite a few of them and was hoping to not have to plug them all in to find out.

    i always end up with hynix or elpida *sp*.. although iv'e never had a problem and not much into overclocking so whatever.

    UPDATE TO EVERYONE
    There does appear to be a difference on the labeling, on the bottom of the card under bios version
     
    the hynix cards use bios version 86.06.45.00.60
    micron cards use bios version 86.06.60.00.60
    samsung cards use bios version 86.06.65.00.60
     
    testing a few more cards to see if this is really the case
