OK I decided to make a small guide on how to get strated with gpu grid boinc folding for team evga. the best cards are gtx 260 and up the workload and temps are not as high as folding and your caRDS WILL ONLY USE ABOUT 70% of it's ability at this time. first go to this link: http://www.gpugrid.net/join.php you'll see a screen similar to this and at the top right click on your account and at the bottom of the next page click join at the bottom of the page click create account and add your information. After creating your account now join team DC@EVGA this SS looks a little different then what you will see when you are signing up there will be click to join a team. click that and just search DC@EVGA. now you will need the client which is in the link at the top of the page run or save it your choice after you install the gpu grid boinc client you will just need to enter your username and password from when you created your account. after you enter that info you'll see a screen similar to this. The wu's will start downloading (MAKE SURE SLI IS DISABLED BEFORE YOU RUN OR INSTALL THE CLIENT!) just like folding@home the client will use each card on its own 1 wu per client. once you see the client above and want more details/control click on advanced and you will see projects tab tasks etc.. the tasks shows the wu's crunching and the ones in que waiting for the wu ahead to finish should look like this this is a screen shot of team evga gpugrid team to stop receiving wu's just go to the advanced view and click no new tasks. this is very much like folding at home and helps many of the same fights as folding at home ie: medicine research, Cancer, Alzheimer, etc.. the best part is GPUGRID offers the opportunity to its highest donor, once reached the target, to choose a research topic ie: if you want the topic to be cancer. for a first time user I found this very simple to set up much simpler then folding at home, most the info is web based and there is team as well as user stats just like folding at home. so if you got a 470 or 480 doing nothing here you go start folding/crunching to fight for the cause. Hope this guide helped as I had to learn as I went along but would love to see more memebrs from EVGA get involved on our team as with only a few memebrs we are already climbing the charts fast toward the top teams. for compatible gpu's see this list and look for te greene ones http://www.gpugrid.net/forum_thread.php?id=867&nowrap=true#7753

also if you want to use your cpu while folding on your gpu's you can click on add a project and add aqua@home then create account add password, change username to your nickname, and join team dc@evga, now your folding on cpu and gpu very simple setup. see this link for more info on the boinc client: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Simple_view

IT'S like folding at home you get points per task, just do some tasks and go to the grid link http://www.gpugrid.net/home.php go to account and on the bottom left it will say something like total credit and task "view" to see how many points per task you get. to use the other gpu just make sure it is not in sli and hooked up it will auto use it if you go to advanced mode, then tasks tab it should show 2 task working at same time if so that is useing 2 cards., hope that helps some

Points for any project on boinc go into a single pool of points right?

pgmoney is that your gts250? it only uses gtx 260 and up cards that would be the problem. see this link only the greene color card numbers work http://www.gpugrid.net/forum_thread.php?id=867&nowrap=true#7753 yeah, I guess I'll just fold on my 250. I was looking for an easy way out on that card until I get around to configuring it.

when my bonus points for my i7 920 start to roll in on folding@home, I might move my 8800 GTS on my second computer to this and give it a try. edit: oh crap, just looked at that link you posted pgmoney, 8800 GTS doesn't work

Joined with my GTX 470 ;) I think my GTX 275 also got a WU assigned but it was folding at the same time and the GPUGRID WU crapped out. It didn't get another WU afterwards, so it seems like you can both fold and gpugrid on the same system. Hell, I'm bigadv folding as well

Infinitekills If you have an ATI 5870 they seem to be accepting beta work in the following link: http://www.gpugrid.net/forum_thread.php?id=1458#13411 the beta is not out yet. back in november they tried to launch a beta but it instantly crashed when you ran the wu's so they cancelled it. they have been working on debugging it. its really hard because they are waiting on ATi's openCL compiler team to get rid of the bugs so they can have stable code the they can optimize it. its going to take several more months at the rate its going. cuda is mostly past those stages except with 400 series.

700_up Also, how do I use my other GPU? If you are running mixed GPU, then the extra GPU will not be used by default via BOINC. In order to enable all GPU's you have to create a cc_config.xml file in the BOINC data directory. This is the directory that contains subdirectories of projects and slots. In cc_config.xml, add the following: <cc_config> <options> <use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus> </options> </cc_config>
