I had the 2080 FTW3 Hybrid and stepped up to the 2080 Ti XC Black. This time I decided to go full custom loop. The hybrid was good for what it is, but it just left me wanting more. So I decided to water cool for the first time. I'm so glad I did too. My computer is so quiet now, and yet still get stupid good temps with high OCs. If you can wait, I'd say go full loop. But if not, the hybrid will be good enough. My new custom loop

JDauwalter I can tell you that having the hybrid card in a push/pull outtake from the case caused my temps to barely be better than when I had the stock cooler on my 2080 ti FTW3 ultra. I was getting around 70C with the hybrid kit on stock settings when it was pulling air from inside the case with the radiator installed in the top.
When I switched the fans around to intake and draw in fresh air, I am getting around 61C max with +500 mem and a +50 clock OC. This is the same config, radiator mounted at the top of the case, just with fans reversed.
So now you've got the rad and fans mounted to the top with 1 fan pulling air from outside the case and Into the rad? What about the rest of your case fans if you don't mind me asking? If I were to order the hybrid kit. I planned on mounting it in the rear in push/pull. Using my ll120 and ordering a noctua for the other. Is that the way you had yours setup?
And that's what I was worried about is ordering it and only getting a few degree difference. I would eventually like to do a custom loop.
What is your stable core clock with those temps and offsets? At full load. Thanks!
This is the way I have it for best temps.
I see! That's a lian li right? 011? My buddy has one and gets great thermals on his. The meshify s2 isnt known for the best thermal performance.

goslingdkc Ahhhh I see what you're saying now! I actually didnt even think about that for some reason! You may very well be right. If I tried the top rad mount, what would be a good co figuration? Thanks a lot!
I will also remove the pcie slot covers when I get home.
Just make sure you do both - all intake fans with big venting (pcie covers removed). Not just removing the pcie covers, which alone won't do anything.
Kind of funny that this thread went from asking about performance of the hybrid kit to adjusting my current thermals lol. But this is really good! So anyway. Should I have the fans on top of the rad mounted top of the case? Pushing air through the rad and into the case? Or fans under the rad pulling air from outside the case and through the rad?

Thanks! That's kind of what the point of my post was. Thanks for letting me know! I really want to do a custom loop to cut down on noise and lower temps. I also like the way it looks. What brand did you go with for your loop? If you dont mind me asking. EK? I plugged my system into their loop builder and ended up with it costing like 800$! Cant swing that just yet.

I would start with turning around your three normal fans to intake and removing the pcie covers, that will be the quickest, easiest and the likeliest chance of improvement. Then check and re-apply the GPU's TIM. The location of your cpu radiator and if it exhausts or intakes is far less important to your GPU temps.

I went with all EK parts, except the reservoir since I wanted a double helix. https://forums.evga.com/S...FINISHED-m2962854.aspxThat is my Mod Rigs thread with all the parts. It was expensive since I went all out and full EK. But I waited till Performance PCs had a big sale and got 15% off, also waited to save up money lol

Ahhh ok I gotcha. Well looks good man. LOVE that reservoir! That's so cool. I may need to wait for a sale as well haha.

I don't remember my previous numbers. I do know load was getting well over 80 and the card was throttling unless I put the fans on high. I couldn't take that noise. With the hybrid kit on my 2080 ti XC Ultra: 32c Idle 62c after 30 minutes running Superposition at 1950MHz I should also add, I replaced the fan with a Noctua NF-F12 iPPC 2000. The stock fans are useless IMO. It is running only in push out the top of the case.

Nice build man! I love the look of the Lian li case. Was actually looking into getting one myself. But wow 80c! I was about to say maybe there is something wrong because that seems really high! But if I'm not mistaken the XC ultra has run warm for some people. But that's a pretty big difference in temps! Hearing this is what makes me lean more towards getting it... all though, saving up and building a custom loop is something I'm seriously considering. I dont know anyone with my exact case and GPU... But I was actually thinking that maybe it would get better thermals in this case if I vertically mounted it. I only say that because that way the warm air from the card would vent directly out of the top of the case through my 2 exhaust fans. Even though I know usually doing that isnt that great for thermals. I have heard that mounting the GPU vertically in your case helps with thermals. Not sure how true that is since I've never owned that case.
