Hard Drives: 2x WDC WD5000AAKS-00A7B2

OS: Windows7

I set up these two disks as a Raid ! through the onboard intel ahci setup. At first it worked great.

But now the second disk is coming as an "offline member" in the pre-OS Intel Raid setup, and in the "Intel Matrix Storage console" it is being listed as a Non-Raid HardDrive while the raid is "Missing Hard Drive"

Any and all help is very much appreciated... I've been trying to figure this out for a month or so!

The bios detects the drives, and you can tell from the screen shots that the software sees the drive too.

When booting up the intel pre-OS raid utility recognizes the drive as part of the raid, just says that its in "offline member" while detecting it.

I've tried unplugging it and plugging it back in and that hasn't helped.

remove the drive from the array and see if you can access it when its not conected to the raid.
eather the drive is having a issue with the controller or the drive itself has issues.

on a second look it looks like you changed the port on your HD.. try pluging your drive into port 2 .

It is currently plugged into port2, I actually tried plugging it into a couple other ports but the drive wasn't recognized at all. Perhaps the drive is dead, which is a shame considering I only received from WD a week or so before this happened.

I'm afraid that by removing the drive from the raid I may be unable to add it back into the raid. And I would then unable to resume the raid and would have to create a new raid. And that creating the new raid would force me to lose all my data.

So I think its fixed actually.

    What I did is this:

I right clicked on the Port 2 hard drive and clicked "reset to Non Raid" then I cright clicked on it again and had the option to rebuild the hard drive and then I followed the menu that came up.

And I think that fixed it! haha
