I have a push/pull set up on my watercool rad. both fans are connected tot he p67 since the H80 fan controller is basically garbage.
i am getting ok temps but i believe i should be getting better temps. but i noticed a couple things like i think one fan is moving slower then the other and may be one of the reasons my temps arent correct and the other is this. take a look at my fan controllers in bio's

The one fan shows its running at 2500rpms but the other two fan controllers arent shwing anything. can someone tell me which fan header on the mobo this is so i know which fan is running at that speed. also can you tell me which fan headers do i need to connect to so that i can set the fan at 100% like the other showing.
I know the one named "JCPU" must be the one for the cpu fan but where are the headers located for the ones named "JPWR and JCHA" i want to connect to them so i can have both the fans on the rad running at 100%

heres the pic of the mobo and the headers i just dont know which header is what

In short i just want to make sure i get both fans on the rad connected to the right headers so i can run them manually at 100% in bio's

On page 28 of the manual it shows you the connections for the fans. The JPWR is the 'Power' fan located on the connector near the 24 pin connection between it and the SATA connectors. I believe the JCHA is the 'chassis' fan located on the top left of the CPU. There are four marked 'system' which are different than the one marked AUX according to the picture in the manual. Not exactly sure which would be looked at as JCHA in the BIOS.

    [edit]
I see on the picture of the BIOS it already has AUX, SYS, SYS1 and SYS2 labeled. Might want to pair those up with the identifying marks on the board itself to narrow it down.

Glad to see that. Yeah if someone could give us a definitive answer that would be handy.

    [edit]
It appears that I may be right about the JCHA fan as it's the only one not labeled 'System' in the page marker and it is near the I/O Shield and the other chassis connections. It's the one to the far left of the CPU socket.

Does anyone know if the system fan headers run the fans at full speed or are they clocked down?

I have the p67-FTW, I also could use some help identifying the JPWR fan header in bios, that Plugs in next to the SATA & 24-pin power connections. Would like to control it in bios?
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello there,

yes - JCHA is in the top left corner on the Z68 FTW also (mounted in a non-BTX-tower at least).

About identifying the fans: Pretty easy, take the fan which has a RPM speed high enough to get listed (under 1000-1200 some boards don't count the probe signals or put off weird numbers), plug it in a connector and look which fan speed display shows something. :-)

If you want to identify one fan (like Lascivious1) just brake it for a short while GENTLY while running, you'll see the change of the speed display, if its the right one. Be careful and don't put your finger in a 32W 9000RPM Delta 120 fan - else they're grinded meat. :-)

They don't break if stopped, most newer fans have restart electronics embedded (if they get blocked by an cable, something flying in or similiar, they will stop and auto restart after a few seconds) while some others just speed up again if you stop braking them.

As long as you don't hold them for long times nothing will happen except for the actions you might have associated within your fan alerts.
