I purchased a old school GTX 1060 from a friend a few months ago and it stopped working. I finally got tired of looking at it and pulled it apart to find the thermal paste absolutely junked and this capacitor fell off. The rest of them are tight and everything cleaned up well.
I can't find the values of the capacitor so I can properly replace it (not doing it myself, just trying to get the part)
On the board it reads: "C276" and the cap reads "71 47 16H"

It broke off more then fell off* the black plate is on the bottom and has the connectors... Do you think reseating is smartest way to go?

if its intact and the contacts are good Id reuse it. Any photos of the cap?
Anyone that has great soldering skills can put that back on if the contacts are still good.

Hard to know why the cap could have fallen off, If the capacitor isn't budging or leaking (or otherwise visually defective), it might be worth trying to solder back on the board. Could have been damaged from overheating.

Thanks!! As someone commented, yes heat played a factor. It got wayyy too hot. I will be replacing the thermal pads and compound (of course) and have a friend who will be re seating it for me Thanks everyone!! austin86 That cap looks fine. Id solder it back on.

I'd solder it back on. Just make sure you install it the correct direction. They are polarity sensitive. If you solder it on reversed, it will pop.

All the Caps are facing the same direction but good point, I should not assume and try to look up a picture of the stock. Thank you! ty_ger07 I'd solder it back on. Just make sure you install it the correct direction. They are polarity sensitive. If you solder it on reversed, it will pop.
