I'm thinking of purchasing this card but have a question regarding rgb control...is there anyway to control this without installing precision x? Maybe a stand alone program? I prefer using riva tuner to monitor my osd but I love the look of EVGA cards so would prefer to stick with them.

not sure which monitor EVGA used to set those colors, but what I see it on my monitor is somewhat different than GPU's RGB.

That's a shame...I wondering if any other stand alone program like asus aura would control it

Once you set the "control" on it the card retains that setting. You could uninstall precision x and the card would still perform the settings you specified. (it does it as soon as it boots up)

You're welcome, you don't need to open precision every-time you restart windows to get the colours you want :-) There's also an older Beta version of Geforce experience that you could use to control it but you'd have to have a look and see if you could find the file floating around somewhere. They temporarily removed it in new version. They're either working on a separate programme for it or updating it to make it more feature-full.

i can confirm this has been my experience. set LED color in Precision X OC; that color stays the same without having to reopen Precision. then you can set the other LED options through Nvidia's LED visualizer. Precision X OC causes strange conflict issues with some games (Witcher 3 for example does not close fully when Precision X is running). i just open Precision when i want to change the LED color.
