Having a problem with AquaMark. Did the patch but when ever it finishes the series of the test, the screen goes blank and it stops responding. Any ideas?

Does it show the score, or does it go blank before the score.

I wonder if it is still there, but you can't see it....black screen right? Try right clicking on the desk top icon for aqua, properties, compatibility, then click the 5 boxes...rerun. Try at stock also

What compatibility mode? Test are run at 1024x768 but setting box setting is for 640x480.

When my one card wouldn't "boot", I ended up going through three different cards before settling on the third card they gave me (it happens to be my best card now, lol). But it took a lot of waiting and sending back and forth until I was satisfied. But again, that was when they had stock of the dual pcb 295's.

uninstall then do a compatibility install...that may help to understand why it's not working.
i know it wont run on one of my laptops...a nc8430.. nor will 2001se for some odd reason.

No I don't rma for performance. My card was dead, the replacements (2 of them) would not even finish a benchmark at stock speeds (that's not rma for performance, that's rma for what I paid for). So I sent them back...I was lucky that the third card was so good. Lucky..... Don't jump to conclusions...

Figured out the problem. Have a 4890 installed to do some ATI Folding and it kept getting hung up with it for some reason. Now I have to try and get a screen shot. Print Screen doesn't seem to work very well.

yeah, like evga doesn't test the card before they issue you another replacement... in most cases....  Figured out the problem. Have a 4890 installed to do some ATI Folding and it kept getting hung up with it for some reason. you have mixed cards in this machine?

Yes but the 4890 is not Crossfired. Only 5750s. ATI CCC only see's the 5750s but for some reason when I ran Aqua it would ramp the 4890 up. Not sure why. I just moved the jumper on my ECP to disable.

Shock, Here is the exact process I did last night (with your help I may add) to get aquamark to run on Win 7. My link for the patch may be different, but it worked for me. AQUAMARK 3 WIN7 INSTRUCTIONS Download patch here (zip file): http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=62093 After you unzip it, read the “Read Me” file. If your running in win 7 with the patch (or xp standard) Ctrl- alt-del after you start aqua open task manager , choose processes tab, find program, right click, set affinity, and enable all 8 threads. If you have trouble saving the print screen of your results: Right click on the desktop aquamark icon, select properties, then go to compatibility tab and check all five boxes. Now when you hit the prnt scrn button you can go to paint and hit ctrl-v to paste the screen shot into paint. EDIT: JUst saw you got it fixed, but are having print screen problems. Read the last paragraph above to get prnt scrn to work.

well i figure this is the place to ask this question. since i have pawned off my gtx 295's and have nothing else better to do this weekend i was going to run benchmarks for hwbot with my 9800gt and possibly my 9600gt. well i did some trial runs a few days ago with my 9800gt on 3dmark01 with a gpu clock of 756/1782/1107 the card is a single slot so temps are my worst enemy; but i was wondering if it would be better to run 3dmark01 with just one cpu core w/o HT or to run all 4 with HT since the max i have been able to push my cpu so far within reasonable voltages is about 4.6ghz with all four. and ill be upgrading my loop this weekend to include a hwlabs black ice gtx 480 and a hwlabs 280 on top of the 3x120mm rad i already have installed so temps shouldn't be a problem for the cpu anymore.

Never actually ran any tests but I have to assume that 8 threads would be better than 2, or even 1. If you can keep your temps down and run at 4.8 or above with one core then you might want to try. Like I said one core gave me no free ghz. Hey just watch your temps and see for yourself. Im not running a classy maybe it will be easier for you. Make sure to submit cpuiz score if you boot with one core real high.

my temps really are not a problem at all at 4.6 i have hit 80c or so with prime 95. i just don't know if the program recognizes more than 1 or 2 threads if not then i should be able to hit 4.8 or higher fairly easily with just one or two cores. highest clock i have been able to boot with has been 220*21 might be able to get higher if i change the pci-e clock but anything above 102 my ethernet ports stop working

Sounds pretty hot. Trust me unless you are going for a cpuiz max overclock I would not go any higher untill you can get it colder. I break alot of things and learn stuff the hard way, cpu gets a little warmer during a vantage run than a p95 blend test will get it. As far as your cpu goes maybe you have reached your limit. 4.6 is fine to bench with if your stable just work on your gpu clocks for the moment.
