I have just updated my computer to Windows 7 Professional from XP sp 3 and I cannot get dual monitors to work.  My Device Manager shows the 8400 as working correctly but if I have both monitors plugged into the 8400 neither monitor shows a display I have to plug back into the system port. I have the latest drivers and all. Even Windows 7 doesnt show a second monitor. If I reinstall the hard drive that I used to use with XP sp3 on it and boot I have dual monitors.

I am at a loss to figure this out

Thanks in advance

Did you install the driver, because I had the same issue.  Your device manager shows the video card, but it won't work properly until you install the driver.  Now mine works fine.

Welcome to EVGA forums, BAnderson14 (and scagb)!

We were having this problem in at school.  It seems that Win7 is kinda wonky when it comes to dual monitors on one card.
I noticed you said "the system port".  By that do you mean the integrated video on the motherboard?  If so, make sure you disable that before we go any further, if you aren't using it, that is.

Being you say you have the latest drivers, I'll skip over that.   What output are you using for the monitors? DVI/DVI, DVI/VGA, VGA/VGA?
