So I installed it seems PhysX is not installed and it wasn't an option when installing. Is it important to have?

Because you broke the install....
You may be running fine without it, but your current Nvidia driver install is now "broken" and problems -will- be coming your way if you dont fix it properly

I dont use system restore or the image. Never really cared for system restore. I have found it has never fixed most issues for me. I haven't used it in years but I also don't run into alot of problems. Most of mine are game or driver related issues. That don't require system restore, at least to me it doesn't.

maniac, so you are saying you install directly over your existing files? You don't delete the old driver n physX or the nvidia driver folder? You just let the nvidia installer do its thing basically?

Before doing ANYTHING with Nvidia drivers....
Open Precision (or Afterburner) and uncheck start with Windows and hit OK
Then shut down the program using the "X" in the top right corner and REBOOT

You are now ready to install

The answer to your question is Yes, the Nvidia installer package has its -own- uninstaller
to install a driver simply lauch the new driver installer in Custom Mode, all entires unchecked -except for Graphics driver and PhysX -and- put a check in "Perform a clean install"

I dont understand how people how so many issues with driver installs. I just run the auto installer and let nvidia do its thing. I have never done a fresh install. All I do is close precision and that's it. Been doing this for years now.

whats the big deal with PX on start up? Why does it need to closed? is that a benefit for the software or we talking about a possible conflict if you we don't close PX?

With these drivers I can't even hold the 120 frame cap in Borderlands 2. I noticed last night and this morning when I checked Afterburner. I am only averaging 70-85 FPS when I always held the 120 FPS with the 320.18 drivers. The game is still very playable and it might not be a big deal to most but I find it annoying. Rolling back.

Your saying you lost 40-50 frames? is that even possible? If it was wouldn't that be a broken driver basically?
I know its a beta driver but for anyone to lose that many frames is a bit concerning.

Borderlands 2 was the only game that had a performance drop so I don't think it was my driver installation. I rolled back to 320.18 and everything is back to normal. I refuse to try re-installing the beta because only one game lost performance. Besides, I never make mistakes.

Go to your C:\NVIDIA folder and delete the Geforce Experience folder. You should be able to install the drivers after that.
