Wow...and I thought tearing down my 1080 Ti FE was a pain.

Interesting. Perhaps one of the biggest advantages of the FTW3 vs the SC2 would be fan noise....a hunch.

Yup, I can now see why EVGA is not offering separate shrouds and backplates. Changing out is obviously doable, but I'll bet the bean counters and lawyers were having nightmares at the thought of having to support all the 'card is broken' calls EVGA would be getting. :-) However, I still think an easily removable/changeable shroud and backplate design would be a strong selling point for EVGA GPU's.

Good thing he didn't knock a SMD off dropping the plate on the PCB.

I was thinking the same thing myself, we even have Threads of users knocking then off their cards.

The tear-down shows that EVGA really put a lot of thought and effort to make the 1080 Ti FTW3 perform really great. Can't wait to see the review when it's published.

very interesting video and fantastic that EVGA let them do that to their cards...must be confident in their product. Fair play. The card looks built extremely well with lots of resilience and clever design...now for the benchmarks, noise, heat and OC results please...

I find this video very useful. Now I'm not sure that I will put my AIO on the FTW3. Will this make sense. Honestly, I did not expect such a high-tech cooling system. At lower chip heat dissipation and lower power limit for the whole video card as a whole... The cooling system descends what it was on the Classy 980 ti. On which I installed AIO NZXT Kraken X40. I'll try to install AIO and compare the temperatures - 9 thermosensors will give full information Probably the heat pipe VRM will not be used .. although of course I can glue the radiator there. Now it remains to wait until the video card is delivered to me. I ordered a pair from Amazon (April 6 for $ 779 and April 24 for $ 750). There is no information on the date of delivery. Mid-May, maybe.

This looks interesting, at first glance the card is pretty big and hefty, I am worried this might cause warping and definitley GPU sag.... I want to get get a GPU support bracket, they just aren't easy to get in Europe
