Hello all

Now that the GTX 980's have arrived, I wonder if EVGA will make an improved High Flow Bracket and a thinner but improved backplate, as done with previous EVGA GeForce cards?
This thread of mine may be a bit early, but I would want to know why NV made the backplate so thick near the power connectors, I wonder of EVGA would be able to improve this

Looking at the stock bracket, with the number of output plugs back there, I don't see how they could stamp out a bracket with thinner metal webbing than is on there now.  It looks as though it's about as good as it could get, unless they delete the webbing in the largest opening completely.

Anyway, these cards should run cooler than the previous models if you look at the wattage draw on them.

Yeah I plan on getting a pair of EVGA GTX 980 SC 4GB's, I really prefer an EVGA Highflow Bracket + backplate, the standard backplate looks really think at this area:

If EVGA would make a backplate without the need for removing a part of the Backplate, Wouldn't this be a better approach? I never seen a GeForce that had such a Backplate where you would have to remove a part to make a tight SLI config possible, this was also never needed with EVGA Backplates from what I know of.

I think the Nvidia stock backplate Looks way better than anything EVGA has put out ever.
That is why my 690's have heatkiller backplates.

So... any idea when a backplate for the GTX 980 will be available? We're already short changed compared to the 970 on not getting one included, but I'd like to be able to buy one at least. plllzzzzzzzzz :)

Just to add my voice to the requests, I recently bought two 980 ACX 2.0's. Great cards, but I would love to finish off the black and white build with a pair of backplates. I am also hunting around the UK for an EVGA SLI Bridge (Ribbon), they seem impossible to find :(
    Cheers chaps

EDIT: Hang on, this is water cooling backplates isn't it. I think I am in the wrong thread ...

I already asked this earlier, EVGA will be releasing a GTX 980 High Flow Bracket (Jacob confirmed), I also know because my card came with one, which btw if someone wants, I will trade/buy a Reference GTX 980 Bracket for my GTX 980 High Flow Bracket, I can even throw in an EVGA 9400 GT or 9800 GT

    Primary System: Intel Core i7 3930K @ Stock ATM / 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz / Samsung 850 Pro 1TB / EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FE
    Test Bench/Folding Rig: Intel Core i5 3570K / 16 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz / 1 Raptor 300GB + 1 TB WD Black / EVGA GeForce GTX 480 Superclocked (Or GTX 680 SC / GTX 770 SC / ???)

Im a NVIDIA enthusiast and welcome any questions.
Also if you cant find help feel free to send me a message, and I will do the best I can to help you.

I think I am getting confused. Is this "backplate" as in the thing EVGA have been giving away free with the 970'd recently, or is this an entirely different, water-cooling related backplate? Sorry IR NOOB

That's what it is, nothing water cooling specific to it.
