It's technically safe to run at 80. According to nvidia's own specs, the has a max GPU temp of 93 Celsius. GPU's will throttle down to stay within safe operating temperatures. I recommend using some logging software to see what happens to your GPU clock speed when the card gets hot. You aren't "hurting it" by running at 80 degrees. The GPU is working under the conditions it was designed for, but lower temps will generally increase the longevity of your components. Better cooling could also give you a small increase in boost clock.

lower the wattage or use an externally sourced fan to cool it down, change the thermal paste/pads.

One of the first things to solve is your case air flow. Luckily there are some great cases out in the market for less than 100 US dollars.

Evga 1660 super ultra is one of the most brilliant card by Evga, I have played games on ultra, I love Evga. I am oldest gamer and I started the gaming from Pentium 1 and I use Evga mx200 4MB gaming card in Pakistan.
