I just had this happen to me while gaming for the first time yesterday. Black screen on both monitors. No fan speed increase. I had music playing in the background and it continued playing after everything went black. So wasn't a hard crash.

Today it happened again while gaming. Same thing with the music continuing to play. Found this thread and unplugged the reinserted the DisplayPort and my 2 screens came back to life. Weird that my 2nd monitor is connected via hdmi but also rebooted after reinserting the DisplayPort to my main monitor. My game had crashed to desktop. Temps looked normal. Not sure what the problem could be. Maybe the game crashing somehow caused the black screen? Leaning to it being something with the DisplayPort. Idk

Ive had this problem with my 980ti . Thought getting 1080ti would fix the problem but it happened today. My monitor is on DVI so thats the one I unplugged to see if it would come back. But I do have DP for my second monitor and HDMI for the tv. Man wish I knew a while ago , I searched and searched and never found this thread till it just got bumped.
