I'm getting some major stuttering issues in GTA 5 when SLI is enabled. Changing settings or resolutions don't make a different. FPS goes from like 90-100 down to 50-60 for a few seconds and then back up to 90-100
I tried to put VSNYC on and i still see dips down to the 50's, Is anyone getting these issues too ? This never happened with my 980 SLI's

What are your full system specs? Have you tried doing #1 & #2 listed here? If not, try doing those first and report back if your issue is resolved or not.

I tried it and still stutters. I can confirm that this only happens in SLI because i tested it in non-SLI and the game plays smoothly. Could this be a driver issue?

I get really annoying and seemingly unfixable* stuttering also in GTA 5 with my SLI GTX 1080's.

*The only way i could completely fix it was to turn VSNYC on and amazingly enough there seems to be no input lag with it on, so I have settled on playing the game with it permanently on. FPS stays at a solid 60fps and never dips a hair.

The only issue is , even with VSYNC on , the FPS will dip down to 40-50 every now and then. Causes major tearing and stutter.

Also I've tried SLI in Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 both work fine. Stuttering only seems to happen in GTA 5.. weird..

By the way, what SLI bridge are you using?

My SLI also works great in other games, except for in GTA5.

If you haven't already  --Try unparking your cpu cores and "validating" the game files in your steam folder. What are your system specs?

im using two separate cheap floppy ribbons for SLI bridges. (until i can pay up for the HB bridge)

Try using just one. You might be causing an issue. I don't believe the new dual HB bridge is wired the same as using two separate bridges.

Yep now it's starting to make sense, i'm using two ribbons as well, i think only the LED bridges and HB bridges will be suitable for SLI with 1080's

Quick question, are the dual HB bridges better than the current LED bridges or are they about the same?

There's not been a definitive answer on this yet. The current LED bridges are supposed to be 'higher bandwidth' but they are single link just like the old bridges.
The new HB bridges are supposed to be double the bandwidth at 2 GB/sec and support a higher pixel clock rate.
