1080 Pascal GPU's are good for 1440p especially if you have a Gsync Monitor.  And probably overkill for 1080p

I wish there were more benchmarks for 3440p x 1440p. Kind of stuck in limbo between regular 16:9 1440p and 4K.

That Uniengine Heaven benchmark looks really suspect. I just ran it on my PC with a 980 Ti at 1454MHz at 1080P and got over 100FPS average.

EDIT: I double checked the article, and it looks like they ran it @ stock? If that is the case, then it is true that an OCed 980Ti is the same as a stock 1080.

That GTX 1080 should be undoubtedly more powerful then a SLI GTX 970, right?

Yes.  Should be about as powerful as 980 SLI.

    CPU: i7 5820k
GPU: 970 SC (soon to be 1080 ACX)
    Displays: BenQ W7000, HTC Vive
    Storage: 2x 1TB SSD's, 2x 300GB Velociraptors and a 3TB 7200 RPM drive (no RAID)
    RAM: 32GB

Looks like I will only need 1x 1080GTX for my BenQ 1080p
Correct about the 1080 being faster than 980GTX Sli-

Yes.  Should be about as powerful as 980 SLI.

Again, maybe stock 980's and in certain situations. There was a guy who had an OC'd 980 SLI setup and reviewed the 1080. It wasn't as fast as the 980's in many games, but it was in a couple.

EDIT: 5 seconds doing a Google search turned up many different reviews comparing them, but here is the one I was talking about (comparison starts at 5:22): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYdzZzSzF2I

Whats the 4095MB number in the Heaven benchmarks?

I would venture to say that is the amount of memory installed on the Video Card.

Mine shows 4096 on my 980 Ti with 6GB, so it's a problem with the Heaven benchmark probably never being designed to detect more than 4GB.
