GTS 450 blacking out after 15-20 min of gaming

Hey guys, I am hoping someone might have a solution for my problem. Whenever I play Starcraft 2 or FFXIV, the screen blacks out after about 15 to 20 minutes of game play. For starcraft, my screen flickers to a black screen, and comes back on. I will be able to play for another 5 minutes before it does it again and again. As for FFXIV, the screen turns black and the game won't come back on. I am still able to move the in-game cursor around, and alt tab out of the game to my desktop, but I have to restart the game to play for another 15 to 20 minutes. I am a total noob, if someone knows anything, please let me know. Thanks

    System specs?
     
    You did use the 260.63 drivers?

    Yeah, I currently have the 260.63 driver installed.

    I turned up the fan using precision to about 60. However, when I'm in a game, i noticed that the fan slows down when it blacks out, and speeds back up when the screen comes back on. This is for SC2. I'll play the game again right now and see what my GPU temperature is when the blacking out happens.

    Use Afterburner instead and run the fan up to 85% when playing.

    I have the SC one. I'm using it with a P55LE mother board..I don't know if that matters.

    Just some thoughts on this...
     

    • Getting hot and shutting down
    • Driver is corrupt and needs to be removed and a fresh install of it done
    • The card has been overclocked with software and it is overclocked to far... Clocks need reduced
    • you have potentially poor contact on one or more of the RAM chips and the overheat safety feature built into the card is saving the card from total failure
    Anyway, not any help.. Just thoughts on potential issues... We can go through them one by one when your ready...
