So I have GTX 1070 FE EVGA and I can hear coil whine comming from it.
But I did tear appart my PC, and put my PSU 50cm away from PC, just to see it PSU also have coil whine.
Well it does. GPU and PSU have coil whine at same time, with same "rythm".

Is it possible that GPU have coil whine, and causing for PSU to have one also?

Because when I don't have GPU in my system, there isn't any coil whine from my PSU.
I also had R9 390 nitro before, and there wasn't any coil whine on either PSU or GPU. And that r9 390 did use much more power that gtx 1070.
Sadly I don't have any other PSU to test it with this GPU, but from what I have tested, I get coil whine only when GPU is in system and on load.

Tried all possible variants with power delivery. I used single 8pin from PSU directly to GPU. Used 3 another 8 pin connectors one by one.
Used 2x6pin to 8pin connector also, if maybe PSU can't handle 150W on single 8pin plug (but that would be weird).
I also did stress test with PC, when GPU was not in it, and put all fans and everything to max power draw ... not a single coil whine.

Meanwhile I get coil whine with GPU even at limited 50% power usage and all fans UNPLUGED.

Is it safe to say that my GPU have coil whine, and also causing my PSU to have one?

Yes these things are typically related. Your video card probably won't whine if you toss it into a friends PC. It's the interaction with your particular setup. It can even change when adding and removing PCI cards other than the video card.

Well EVGA asked me to test with differend PC if that's possible, but sadly I don't have any other PC around.
    So they agreed to RMA.

I just hope that new card that I get, won't have coil whine. I asked EVGA support if that coil whine means that I will have it with any GTX 1070 card, they said no. It's somehow about luck.
So I realy hope that new card won't have that problem, otherwise I have no idea what to do. I can't keep returning my GPU and paying around 40€ for shipment every single time.
Buying new PSU would cost me around 140€ if I want to get decent one with 0rpm fan till some point and 80+ gold certified.

I'm realy not lucky with this set up I guess :(

Yup my 980Ti's had coil whine when I first got them.  Initially I RMA'd one of them as I bought a pair for SLI and the one I got back from RMA also whined too...     So I looked at my 8yr old 850W Antec Power Supply and decided to upgrade that.
Replaced it with a Seasonic X-1050 and all the coil whine completely stopped!!

Coil Whine is caused by the Chokes on the GPU trying to filter out AC voltage and also reduce DC Voltage ripple coming from your power supply...    so if your power supply is older or is struggling to supply enough power the ripple in the Current will increase which can cause the Coil Whine.   As power supplies age they lose efficiency eventually after 7yrs+, so generally the power output will get more "noise" and ripple if they are stressed.

You can try a RMA there is of course a change you got a card that is defective, but it's very possible the source is caused by your PSU.   The fact you also hear coil whine from the PSU sounds like you might need to think about replacing that.
I'd highly recommend EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G2 or Seasonic X-650 if you decide to get a replacement.

Hmmm, I have an EVGA G2 PSU and it didn't have coil whine with the 980 GTX Ti but I get coil whine with the 1080 GTX cards.
So in this case I think its more GPU related than PSU...most of the times with the GPU.
But of course if you have a really old PSU then coil whine can happen.

Well my RM650x PSU is less than few months old.
And as I said, I had no problem running R9 390, which is using more power than GTX 1070.
I realy hope it was just bad GPU, and the new one will work better :)
Spent 600€ on water cooling loop, to get rid of all the noise in my system, and then I have to strugle with coil wines -.- just makes me sad.
Should just buy that thunderbolt accessories and put my PC in room below me and eliminate all the noise at cheaper price, but too little too late ;)
