If you've installed the Dark Void bench to test your new card, make sure the nVidia Gaming System software is not still within the Programs and Features panel listing. If it is, remove it and repair the PhysX package...
AHA! That worked for me I had Dark void installed on my computer. I once I uninstalled the Nvidia Gaming System software and repaired the Physx install it worked. =D

The newest drivers for 470/480 only support those two cards, so if you have a card other than those and want to use it for physx, there is no driver support :(
You can use hacked INF method, or download 3rd party drivers like Xtreme G. But they may not work properly and give performance issues. If it was that easy to fix, they would probably be released by nvidia already.

That wouldn't be the case for the 197.45 WHQL. Don't know about anything newer than that...

Did you mod the inf of 197.41 and 197.55?Because neither driver will even detect your 260 as they are.

i already posted a similiar thread,and i just talked with support,i have a 470 and want my 275 for physics,if you notice nvidia's drivers they update the 400 series to the same as the 8,9,and 200 series physics software(same physics version)though the regular drivers are different and (evga)support told me there is no way to get a dedicated physics card from a previous generation card to comply with the new cards yet and wait for driver updates from nvidia directly dont mess with the files as others reccomended as a workaround.physics works just with my 470 just cant add a dedicated physics yet hopefully drivers will make it work in the near future(keeping my fingers crossed)the physics system software bundled with all drivers are the same so there should be a way to make these cards work as dedicated physics even though the driver versions are different.197.41(400 series)and 197.45(8,9,and 200 series,and all series drivers are bundled with 1.10.0129 physics or something cant remember the numbers,i do know the physics software is the same(all series cards)so it should work its just a matter of time.the .55 drivers dont change anything either from what i understand except 4 way sli 400 series cards.

maybe why this is why i don't see any % used of my 8800 gts 512 in cryostasis, i just though it was because physx wasn't that much of a load. edit: or something to do with precision possibly not detecting physx using the gpu maybe? i really don't know

Unfortunately, that's a shortcoming of Precision itself and a documented one. I don't think unwinder intends to set it up for the CUDA/PhysX loads...

No,Its because you have to add the 8800gts to the driver inf.You are not installing your 8800gts if you are using unmodified 400 drivers.

My card would show up, just no PhysX processing would occur on the GPU. As indicated by 3DMark scores and the PhysX Visual Indicator.

it shows up as physx in gpuz... how do you show what is doing physx processing in supersonic sled? edit: it seems that the memory on my 8800 is being used during the super sled demo, the gpu usage is just not going up. strange.

If you've installed the Dark Void bench to test your new card, make sure the nVidia Gaming System software is not still within the Programs and Features panel listing. If it is, remove it and repair the PhysX package...
Method worked for me on my GTX 470, PhysX is now running on the GPU and is working fine, thanks!

I'm having problems with PhysX also but I have no Gaming System software installed and I have dark void install on my computer i think this is a Nvidia screw up
