Gigabyte has officially released their Aorus Gen4 NVMe SSD, one of the world's first PCIe 4.0 SSDs to offer speeds of up to 5,000MB/s. Aorus has confirmed that their drives are now "ready for release" and will be available to users soon, making it likely that Aorus will be the first to market with a consumer-grade PCIe 4.0 SSD.

Alongside this announcement comes confirmation that the drive will be available in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB forms, though at this time it is unknown whether or not the drive's 500GB variant will ship with decreased performance, much like lower capacity PCIe 3.0 SSDs. Aorus has confirmed that they are utilising Toshiba's 96-layer 3D TLC NAND  and Phison's PS5016-E16 controller and offers a robust all-copper heatsink design.

Well I'm curious about pricing myself.

That is a very fast drive. I just hope the prices are affordable since for the majority of games can easily find pci-e 3.0 drives fast enough and for reasonable prices.

CORSAIR and GIGABYTE finish job nicely, they understand why EKWB M.2 Heatsink, Alphacool and Aqua Computer heatsinks are bad and damaged some M.2 to some people, fried them or they didn't worked after hard installation.

This kind of heatsink is easy for installation and finish job better.
Actually this is almost ideal and if you look for aftermarket this type of installation process you should look for.
M.2 heatsink need to fit below Graphic cards, on several motherboards.

I still use my DIY method of cooling my Samsung XP941 512GB.  Fujipoly pads and heatsinks, low enough for a GPU installation above it.  Had to spend some time doing some research and measurements prior since it was all fairly new.

That copper heatsink looks like it would match a Asus board from like 10-15 years ago tbh lol. I wonder tho if heat will be problematic for Gen 4 PCIe SSDs in a M.2 form

As long as your popular enough, you can get away with anything.

Prices are in New Zealand dollar

    Roughly translates:  2TB = $550 USD     1TB = $300 USD
