Since the release of Precision XOC on 5/27/2016 which wants the graphics card's Serial Number (SN or S/N), there have been some forum members (in varying degrees of irateness and otherwise) either wondering where to find it or how to get it without opening up their PC and/or disturbing/removing hardware.
 
You can find the Serial Number in a few different places/ways..You can find it on the product sticker, or on the product box, and most likely on the sales invoice.
 

 
 
If you don't have the box or invoice and have previously registered your product, there should be no need to open your PC and in some cases remove/disturb hardware to read the Serial Number on the card's sticker: Simply login to EVGA and go to the EVGA Home Page, click Member, then click My Products..All your registered EVGA products will be shown there along with the Serial Number, the Part Number, the Part Description, the Place Purchased, the Purchase Date and the Date (and time) Registered..From there, clicking on the View Details button will show you additional information such as Warranty Information and Step-Up Information.
 
If you've ordered your product online from a retailer such as Newegg, TigerDirect, etc., you may be able to view/download a copy of the receipt with the Serial Number by logging into your account there.
 
If all else fails, you'll need to open your PC and remove/disturb hardware (including backplate if you've installed one on the card) to get it.
 
There is no software/utilities that will read the Serial Number.

That's just some, and there will be more..Yes, there will be, unless the Serial Number requirement is lifted..I assume most people get tired of typing the same answers over and over again.

I hate being so skeptical but the ones asking those type of questions on where the serial # is, they're probably not even going to see this thread at all. That is my doubt.

Sorry , I cannot believe users having a crises over their Serial Numbers. 

 

I agree with bcavnaugh. Common sense says to keep the box or write down your serial number just in case you need it for something. If you don't have that, look for other places it could be. If all else fails, examine the hardware itself.
 
Also (for those who refuse to look at their graphics card), I understand it's a pain, but it's not really that hard to physically examine your graphics card. Granted my first time messing with hardware (when I replaced my PSU and Graphics Card) made me nervous. However, I'm assuming a lot of the people reading this have done something like that, or at least know someone who can.

Common sense tells me not to fuel this kind of idea and advocate it like we should have to accept it, common man.
EVGA wanted to set a precedent with a new idea, and no-one wanted it, pure and simple. They even retracted the idea. 

Fair enough, I myself don't really see the point of it requiring the serial number tbh.

Who buys and evga card and doesn't register. You need to register for step up program and now to use their softwares exclusive features. I don't understand people reluctance to register stuff these days.

The biggest reason that made this thread relevant has been made redundant since EVGA
decided to retract the serial prompt.

And which PXOC version doesn't require the SN at this time?..The future version as stated here in post #74?..I was right, I was guessing you're Mensan 

Facts:
1. PXOC still wants the SN until the next version comes out
2. People exist that throw stuff away
3. People exist that don't take pictures
4. People exist that don't write stuff down
5. People exist that don't want to open/take apart their PC
6. People exist that don't know there's other ways the SN can be found
7. The information is for those people
 
Anything else you need help with?..If not, then carry on and don't worry so much about it if it doesn't apply to you.
