I'm not really an 'enthusiast' but I do like guns. I don't personally own any, but my dad has quite a collection. I'll be buying a concealed carry next year....

Oh, and I'm a good shot too. Significantly better than my dad, and he's been practicing since before I was born.

Hehe, yeah being in the Navy I never got the chance to handle the cool stuff.  The closest was the Tiger Cruise when you got to bring a family member on at the end of a WestPac cruise from Hawaii back to home port.  They have various events set up that you can do together so I got to do something I didn't normally have a chance to being as I worked on electronics, computers, and radio equipment.  Got to fire one of the deck mounted 50 cals used for defense against things like small boat assault.  I never got around to buying a gun myself (too much $$$ on computer stuff lol) but I do enjoy going to the range with my Dad once in a while because he has a few.  One of these days I'll get around to buying one myself.

The Barrett M82A1 .50cal is my favorite gun I've ever fired. Of course I used it in the US Army. I have no use for it in civilian life unless I want to go hunt elk or take down a grizzly bear from a mile away.

I do not consider myself a gun enthusiasts, but I do consider myself a family safety, and protection enthusiasts, In a perfect world there would be little need for the masses to have access to guns, and I will be willing to give up mine just as soon as someone will guarantee me a perfect world. with evidence to support the guarantee.

I'm a gun nut a bit.

A good American should practice responsible gun ownership, which means we should own a gun or 6.

I believe "responsible gun ownership " is locking all weapons in a gun safe as I have done for over 40 years....with weapons comes a responsibly to your self and the community to take proper care and use of  them....just my 2 cents

That's basically what I mean. Other aspects of responsible gun ownership; not pointing a gun at someone you have no intention or obligation to kill, being proficient with that gun to the point of never finding one's self saying "Oops, I meant to hit the other guy", knowing not to brag to strangers or acquaintances where and how many guns you have.

Weapon enthusiast? Yes...
Gun nut? Nope...

I have kept firearms and knives for many years, but to me, a weapon is only as good as the person using it. By that, I mean responsible use of what is, in my mind, a tool.

With that being said, I think we will most likely see some posts about people arguing if guns are good or bad, but hopefully we won't...hopefully we will just see some pictures of modified weapons.

Before anyone does post about guns being good or bad...try to look at guns in a new perspective...guns as a tool. Electricity is a tool in my mind, it can be used to light your house, and also fry someone who decided to charge a police officer or security guard. A gun may not power your computer, but it can deter someone from stealing it.

With that being said, nice shotgun

I find that both reasonable and responsible, assuming the bad guy is not between you and the safe , of course it would also work if he would call ahead, and let you know he was coming.

If having four full sized safes with 20+ rifles and 11 Pistols in each make folks an enthusiast. Than yes. Because my neighbor has those safes and I am over there all the time rubbing and touching all his guns

Seriously...

Personally. I carry 24/7 with  full licensing and practice (When possible) on Tuesdays when the ladies get to shoot for free. Wife likes to go...

My favorite Pistol is my FNP-9 and my backup is a wonderful little jewel... Glock 27...

My Main Rifle is a custom, filly tricked out DPMS M4.... 200yard accurate 3" pattern... Wookie FTW light and ready...

I am a collector/shooter of guns. Have been all my life there is nothing more fun than to spend the day shooting targets with friends and family.  I have anything from a Ruger single six to a Bushmaster M4A3 w/detachable carry handle.

My favorites have to be my Springfield XD 40 cal. Service model

My enthusiasm to use a weapon far surpasses my enthusiasm to own one.  So with that said better and safer for me not to have one or even allow me to hold one.

I commend you on your responsibility of not purchasing a firearm. A gun is simply a tool...the noise and destruction that follows pulling the trigger of a .50 caliber at a shooting range can be quite entertaining, but can also lead to very bad things when the weapon is in the hands of someone without restraint.

The bad thing is I don't not limited to what weapons I can get, if I want it I can find it.  And I'm not even going to speak on high explosives.

I have only have 2 guns sadly. A .22LR stainless steel and a M1911A1(Gift from my Grandfather). I have to say it is harder finding .45 ammo here in California, and when you do it isn't cheap. I can say my Dad is a enthusiast though, when you start to have more guns than clothes in your closet lol!

I will either find a way, or make one.
