The original robotech/macross. Although that would be more of a series...

I would like to see a sequel to District 9 but I would be ok if they left it alone. Seems like they end up ruining a lot of movies with crappy sequels. A good example would the original Planet of the Apes and then they remade it with Mark Wahlberg and it was awful. Now they're making another one, they just dont learn. I would rather them start making original movies instead of remakes.

If it was done right, I'd like to see a sequel to Jumper, Planet of the Apes and maybe The Goonies. I'd love to see a remake of Time Bandits and the first Neverending Story. I hear a lot of people bashing the newer Planet of the Apes. While I agree that Marky Marks acting was a little stale, overall, it was entertaining to me.

I have to say The Golden Compass. I really like the movie and they had quite a few more books in the series they could have worked with.... How could they stop at the one movie and left it so unfinished?

I'd like to see the Mad Max series remade. Make it into a good, better executed series. Seriously, who is going to loot a sporting goods sport after Armageddon to don football shoulder pads?

I would love a "serious" Land of the Lost movie but I think when I was a kid watching Land of the Lost, it seemed serious. Watching it now, I don't know what I was thinking. Maybe a Jurassic Park or something with Dinosaurs but poop your pants scary like Dino Crisis (PS1 game)

A classic is classic because it is what is it. Some might suggest that someone should make knockoffs of classics to match current movie making technology. That's making a movie for all the wrong reasons. That is the reason why a remake is almost never as good as an original. Unless the direction, casting and story is better than the original, doing a remake is crap.

mistermister I was going to say Blade Runner... but it looks like they are actually doing it! http://www.pajiba.com/tra...lade-runner-remake.php Noooooooooooo! This is not a good idea. You should not remake a movie that is perfect by itself. This is like they decided to remake the Back to the Future Trilogy.

Ehhh...not sure remaking Blade Runner's a good idea. Steven Spielberg worked on the remake of the 1995 Ghost in the Shell, 2.0 and I was less than pleased w/ the cel-3D discontinuity and cutting out some brief scenes from Motoko vs tank battle. Classics are classics for what they are and there's a good reason why they are called classics. Just like many don't wanna see (more) remakes of Gone with the Wind, Doctor Zhivago, The Sound of Music, it's the same logic.

TBH, screw remakes, hollywood needs to make a GOOD scifi movie that follows a war between humans and aliens, but *GASP* humanity has warships and can actually defend itself!

Frankly, novels do a better job a fleshing out new areas of original movies than sequels do.
