I recently heard a weird sound coming from my Computer Rig though it is still functioning well. The sound was like something was caught in a spinning fan. Out of curiousity, i opened it up and tried to find where it was coming. I think it was coming from the HDD. So i just tighten the cables. After i booted my computer, the HDD was now unreadabe and i cannot boot to windows. WHen i went to Bios, it says "Bzbzbzbzbzbzbbz......".

I have a Western Digital Caviar Black HDD by the way.
So any insights about this problem?

1.) Is it possible that the cables(SATA and Power) are still loose or are defective?
2.) Or is my HDD defective and needs to return to the manufacturer?

Try taking the HDD out and booting into the bios. If the noise is not there then try the HDD with different cables or in another computer. If all fails then yes, it  is most likely the HDD...

Maybe try booting into safe mode as well.

If you can connect the drive to another machine or through a USB tO SATA connector you can go to the Western Digital site and download there Hard Drive diagnostic and test the drive for failure and truely know if it is bad or not.

I already fixed the problem. It seems that my SATA cable was running loose. So i replaced it with a new one and all is well now.

one of my favorite features of EVGA boards was the metal clips on the ends of the SATA cables, keeps them nice and tight.
