You might as well ask me to not post news, but you're not a moderator are you?

No, but your post has been reported, and it is against the TOS. So have fun.

Holo No, but your post has been reported, and it is against the TOS. So have fun. And jumping into someones topic with the intent of flaming them isn't? I was focusing more on the Internet aspect than the political aspect. Be cool.

Holo Im not flaming you in the least, however, it is against the TOS to post political stuff. Could have sent a PM, or just not replied if you thought it was unacceptable. But you decided to take the TOS into your own hands and spout it off like you're the TOS prophet. If a moderator sees this and finds it unacceptable; lock it, delete it. I don't care.

I don't think the topic is a TOS violation, but you could have worded the title and OP differently and still gotten your point accross. That said, I am glad they review things like this and see how it can negatively affect the end users. I have no problem with paying based on how much information is transferred, it is pretty much that way now. The problem comes when the big companies are able to set whatever rates they want and push the small ISPs out of business. Anything to keep competition alive is good in my books.

I'm just sick of the corporate greed that goes on and it gets even more repulsive when they try to encroach on smaller companies and try to eliminate competition when said smaller company can undercut corporations like Telus and Shaw and still make a profit. I would say more, but then I would be getting political.

This is definitely a +1 brunions... Ive been circulating a petition for a few weeks that was passed on to me. It's been a great help in turning heads in Parliament. Michael Ignatieff actually sent out letters to everyone who signed it in support...although I think this is just being used as a political tool for the Liberals to gain support, kind of perfect timing to stand behind something. Anyways, this is awesome news that we are making change possible!! Cheers.

I totally agree Stuey 1122 .... He is def. a tool, and I have never been a fan. But it seems like no matter who is in power.... it's always a gong show. So dont think I am in support of Harper, I think he only cares now because of the backlash in allowing it to happen in the first place. Sign sign sign !!! http://openmedia.ca/meter

ISPs are constantly trying to put the squeeze on people in USA. The get monopolies in service areas, then they lobby gov to tax competitors, and of course they want to charge penalties to people who overuse. Then there is the phone data plans.
