I'm new to all this, I've never had Off-board videocards before so I dont know a whole lot of them.

What exactly are the advantages of putting 2 cards in SLI? (Since I'm thinking of buying a second GTX460 for playing heavier games)
Does it litterly mean that it will double the amount of GPU memory/Mhz? Just want to know some details about SLI. I've searched on google but thought I'd ask here since this is where I got my card from.

Also is it actually possible for my current PC Spec to put them in SLI (Looking at Power consumption/Cooling I mean)

PC Spec:

Antec Gamersgear Ninhundred Two (3 120mm fans, 1 200mm fan on top)
Asrock X58 XTREME MoBo
i7 950 3.07Ghz
GTX460 SC EE (Not overclocked)
Kingston Valueram Triple channel 6Gb RAM
WD Caviar Black 500gb
Corsair TX650 650watt

SLI is awesome esp for the 460 cards. I've almost doubled my FPS (frames per second) in every game. You will probably need a beefier power supply if you wanna run a second card though. I use an 850w psu and it handles both cards fine and I have a ton of fans/lights, 2 hard drives, 2 dvd drives etc.

normally you get 50-100% extra graphic processing power adding a second identical card in sli, the gtx 460 specifically gets near double performance from sli over a single card, but one thing you should be aware of is multi gpu setups have issues with lots of games called microstutter but there is a sli profile patch for games but this patch does not support every game and also doesnt support games when they first launch, i would look more into this microstutter before you make up your mind, also another good option (which is what i'm going to do personally) would be to sell your gtx 460 and upgrade to a gtx 570, the gtx 570 is as powerful as 2 gtx 460 sli but without the issues of multi gpu setups

It's not literally a double in frequencies, per say, but you do get double the processing cores. With that, you can run games at higher resolutions and at higher settings. The cards will run at identical frequencies, and can be overclocked in this configuration. As an example, I run mine at 830/1660/2000 for 24/7 usage.

To answer your second question, yes, you can run SLI just fine with a Corsair 650TX. My entire rig pulls about 500W at load, so yours at stock should do less. Even overclocked, you'll probably be around the 500-550W mark. Less power efficiency at that level, but your PSU will be able to handle it.

Sli 460's beat 570.Microstutter lol never have it.And last with 460's you can do nvidia surround which you cant with 1 570.And you can buy 2 evga 460 sc ee for 179.00 each with rebate.Ive been running sli and tri sli for years and have never had any more problems than i did with 1 card.

Yeah but SLI the 570's and they will stomp a mud hole in the 460's SLI. But you cant go wrong with the 460's for the price. However, I would still suggest a single 570 for now then upgrading to SLI later, much more future proof and I really cant say enough about how awesome of a card the GTX 570 really is.

And the ability to go more than 2-way SLI, the 460 just seems to be a dead end to me, however if you dont plan on going more than 2 way SLI and it provides enough performance to your standards, by all means go with the 460, they run cool, they are small, and they overclock well. It really comes down to personal preference. I am going to be buying a P67 mobo, so I am going to be purchasing another 570 to get more performance out of the 2600K that I am hoping to get to atleast 4.3 ghz 24/7
