ok i bought me system about 2 years ago now and i have 2x2g setup. Muskin 7-7-7-20 at 1.85v

I was thinking about getting another 2x2gb problem is muskin doesnt make any 7-7-7-20s anymore. patroit does have one but at 1.7V

so how should i go about getting a pair of memory without tossing my system to out of wack. they dont make memory with that high of voltages anymore. if i bring the voltages doen to match my new pair will that make my old pair unstable? or should o bring my new memory up to 1.85z, but doesnt thing run a risk of damaging it?

I don't really recommend mixing RAM brands, but if you must, the following Patriot RAM matches as far as timings and voltage (if you are running 1600Mhz modules).

Yes, if you are going to mix brands, you want both brands to have the same recommended specs, i.e. timings and voltage requirements.

.....and even then, you will be very lucky if you can get them to work together. Manufacturers use different processes in their production and there may be underlying conflicts.

I would not even mess with it unless you have a REAL NEED for running 8GB's.
