I am. I've been waiting for it for over a year, though i just bought a PS3 4 months ago. The best part is I won GT5 and LBP2 in a contest to receive them a week earlier then the release date.  And i can't stop watching this video everyday.. it gets better and better.

Question should be whose not getting it. Gran Turismo 5 should be GOTY no question. No group has put as much into any game on the current consoles as Polyphony Digital has with Gran Turismo 5. They could have done like many in the west and released it 2yrs ago and milk the consumers on DLC.

i hate all racing games except burnout for the most part...but im getting GT5. for eye candy alone. lol.

Really? Camon... this game is worth a PS3. Specially if you are getting that cockpit. And besides this game there are a lot of great exclusives. Don't limit yourself to PC.

Same here No PS3 and I still have yet to beat Forza 3, which I love. This is one of the only games that has me contemplating getting a PS3 though.

I can always change my mind... But I am no longer a fan of the weak resolutions and picture quality of the consoles. Having so much pleasure in the PC realm from the eye candy has me staying more and more PC... We have most of the Consoles out in 2009. I think most have not been touched (Other than dusting) sense the passing of our son... Kind of lost interest in it after that. Just my $.02... Besides.. we all know at some point the Consoles will merge in one form or another (Or the other way around) with the computers at some point to bring us the best of both worlds. Pretty soon every TV in the home will have a computer/Entertainment unit attached to it. Very well could be in the next generation of Sony products like the BluRay in my home does the internet so nicely today. Who knows!  And do not let anyone else tell you differently. 10 years ago I was laughed out of a Conference in California where I made a statement of now fact, that the Cell phone industry has to merge home type (Speed and volume) internet surfing needs/texting/video chat and spreadsheet usability into the higher end phones in order to survive/compete. Remember... It was not to long ago the only big news from the Cell companies was a new clam-shell that was 1/4" smaller than the last one.. Big woop. Not to mention that my new truck... Well I can do pretty much anything but play video games with the new Microsoft Sync system. I no longer hit buttons. I hit one and all of the rest is voice commands. I surf the web, use the GPS, make calls, and even watch DVD's by voice commands... So frik'n cool!!! So I see no reason to not expect bigger and better in home gaming systems in the next 3-4 years...

@afterburner GT5 1080P will still have better visuals than most pc racing games. And 1080P is not bad at all, most pc gamers are not even running that so... Most all the good racing sims for pc are awesome but the visuals are really lacking because most of them are from small budget studios. And yea I know what you mean about the high resolution on pc games because I run at 5760X1200 too. But I will not miss out on a very good racing game on the console even if I have to buy the console. I am just saying for a $200, a PS3 is a very good investment. It does a lot more then just play games as well, web browser, can be used as a really good media player by using PS3 media server on a local pc. Hell you live close, I would even loan you my PS3 just so you can check it out when it comes out for you to make your decision.

I don’t think anyone doubts what consoles will be like in the future. In their current state we have what we have. Gran Tursimo 5 is only going to be on the PS3 and the op was to who is getting it.
I guess it must have to do with being older (or maybe just more years gaming) but the resolution of gaming on consoles is in no way a deterrent for not playing a game. Eye-candy always wears off fast for me in games no matter how “pretty” you can get them to look. The other aspects of the game are what keep me playing those years after release.
Today you will find no other racing game that can match the level of content Gran Turismo 5 has anywhere other than on a PlayStation 3.

I got my g27 and am waiting on the ubutto be in stock again... December is going to be a great month for me! I'll have to make sure I have a cup holder on that thing and a toilet below so I don't have to stop!
Well... I'm also sending my ps3 in for a reball with LEADED SOLDER to solve it's sad issue :(

Well I know we have an Xbox, Xbox 360, Wii and a playstation 2... Just trying to find if we did get the PS3 or not. I swear we did and watched Blurays on it for a few months (Well and played a few games). But I wonder if our son loaned it to a friend (Did it all the time, no worries) and that is that... And thanks for your offer BTW.. ... But way to many pawn shops we can get one at for cheap...
