    Well it can stream Netflix and Hulu so it's a cheap alternative to a PS3, XBox, HTPC, etc.

    I kinda don't get it. I just spent $94 dollars for Sony Blu-ray player that does netflix and like 25 other streaming services. Why would this be better?

    I almost bought one of those Roku box things then I realized all of those things are a waste when ytou can get a br player that does more and cheaper

    I am not trying to offend but this thing is a total waist. You can get an Xbox for around the same price depending on the HDD capacity and the age of the system and you can do more with it. Or take the $200 and put it towards an HTPC.

    thanks i just wanted to know. i got a nice blu ray player i use for netflix. i bought a xbox 360 not knowing my bluray did the netflix and all the other cool stuff. what a waste for a xbox

    Boxee is pretty cool.  No need to get the hardware though because it will run on just about anything.  I don't use it anymore because I now use Playon to do all of my streaming.  Plus it works on blu-ray players.  :)

    Boxee is just a 3rd party media center front end like Windows media Center. You can download it and install it for most computer types. No need to buy a STB Boxee.
