I sold my previous watercooled rig to go back to air cooling :)  And i have to say i got no regrets, no worries over leaks, gunked up blocks etc.  Just nice simple, hassle free air cooling :)  Its not 100% finished, i need to get some fans that go with the mobo really, and thats why the fans i have atm havent been sleeved.  All cables apart from the psu were sleeved with some spare mdpc i had lying around.

Apologies for the Asus mobo.  I tend to stay with EVGA as they have never let me down before, but i couldnt get hold of the p55 classified here in the UK .  Ive had bad expereince in the past with Asus mobo's, but this m3f seems aight *touch wood*.

I got the i5 760 modestly overclocked to 3.6 which will do me just fine, and the EVGA card is just a great little card

I might however watercool this in the future as i have some spare rads and reservoirs etc lying around.  But for now im loving this!!

The case btw is the Coolermaster cm690ii advanced.  Good little case, nice options for watercooling, nice cable management, love the hdd bays, just a shame some of the stand off screw holes werent tapped

Some pics!

Thanks!!

Nice, clean, straight forward build.  I like it!  Doesn't get any easier than that does it?  Good job.

    Thanks Yer Buddy.

    No it sure doesnt

Ive watercooled for the past 4 years or so, and its a nice change to go back to air.  But i reckon in a few months time i'll start getting that itch again to go water

Thanks.  The wires on the psu are so rigid, its hard to get a nice tight bend with them, i guess they'll loosen up in time.  The wires on the cpu fan and exhaust fan will be unseen when i get some different fans in, just need to decide on which fans to get.

For a mid tower its got some good cooling potential, both air and watercooling.  Can fit 10 fans if you wish and can fit 2 double rads internally, pretty damn good for a £80 case

LOL.  You know you will...especially once the temps get high.  I know what you mean though.  That's why I always keep an air cooled rig along with my liquid rigs.  It's always nice to have the "easy-to-take-care-of" rig.  I had to take a break from the hard-core liquid for a while myself.  Then, the bug hit me again and the addiction started all over.

Nice job though.  I love that little case.  It looks so very easy to work with.

Great looking build. If you want a little bit of watercooling I am using the Corsair H70 for the my CPU only. A sealed system that I don't have to worry about.

    Thanks for the BR

rjohnson, i had thought about the corsair unit actually, but decided on the vx cooler as i wanted to try out some modern air cooler, cant remember my last cpu air cooler, think it was probably a stock intel cooler

YerBuddy, the case is really well thought out, only one gripe really is the cut out for the cpu backplate is a wee bit small, doesnt line up with my backplate, but nothing a dremel cant sort out.  It was either this case or the haf922, but the black internals of the cm690 swung it for me.  Another thing i will be doing is a cut out for the side panel, as its just a plain panel with 2 fan mounts.  Again thats something for the future, maybe when or if it gets watercooled

I was using a Noctua previously and it was a great cooler but the Corsair H70 really has my temps lower than anything I've tried before.

They have a windowed side panel for sale.  Saves you lots of trouble.
