Windows explorer crashes on me whenever i leave my comp idle for a long time. It will turn of the monitor, but i have it set so it will not go into sleep or hibernate mode. I can open firefox and games, just can not look at system properties.

So how do you get explorer back?
Do you restart your system or manually start it again?
Anyways, IME this can be caused by just about anything. You will have to troubleshoot.

Try using the High performance power plan and disabling the power saving features in the BIOS. Did you try updating the chipset and other device drivers? Could it be stability related? Lower that huge overclock back to stock for a little while.

ok i have high performance set with never turning off hard disks. Also I can get explorer back by logging off then back on, no restart. Are there specific power options to change in the bios?

I skimmed through the manual and found these. Some of the first things I set when I begin overclocking.

    Power Management Setup Menu  pg49
    ACPI Suspend Type = [S1(POS)]

    CPU Feature Menu pg62
    Intel SpeedStep  = Disabled
    CxE Function =  Disabled
