So I normally shy away from anything that looks like it's been named by a gamer because chances are it's overprice and under-valued (aka Razer stuff unless it's dirt cheap like my Microsoft/Razer Habu), or anything named along the lines of "Gamer Pro!" or "Champion Series",

But this card seems like it gets fairly decent reviews and a lot of people on these boards have them. It's $110 for the week and I"m wondering whether to pull the trigger or not.

Also, anyone have experience with Creative's Win7 64-bit drivers?

Yes, I've got the 64-bit drivers installed and they were flawless to install and I've had no problems since day one.

The only thing you should know is if your computer case has a front panel (FP), connect the FP wires to the card in order to properly use a mic.  Otherwise, it gets recognized as Line-In and that's when I had problems - Mic doesn't show up until you connect the FP.  It just took me a bit of research to figure that obstacle out but in the end, I benefited.  I'm very satisfied with the card.

You talking about the front panel HD Audio cables that you normally plug into the boards audio socket right? It's small, black, I think has 7 pin connection?

    No, I believe it's a 2-pin connection (Mic-In).

Hmmm....I dunno, I don't even have AC'97 audio plugged in on my case and the front panel audio out works fine.

Maybe because I've never tried to use a microphone yet. I'll be sure to double check that.

Most people really like their razer hardware, I'd have to disagree with you on that one.

    X99 FTW, I7-5820K, GTX 970.

Actually, yeah, it's the HD Audio connector that's plugged in, not the Mic-In.  I just opened up my case and checked.  I thought the Mic-In was used before but I guess not.
