Which one is worth it? I don't plan on overclocking past 4-4.1 ghz and I'm going to water cool from the start. I have a friend here that is adamant against the ftw3, but I see nothing wrong with it after reading many reviews. Help?

if you do not need the three items removed to make room for the sata 3 portsm and e-bot, it's a fine board.  see below

well my main decision point rests on is it worth it? The x58 sli is in b-stock for $100 and the lowest you can get the ftw3 for is around $260. yes b-stock has no warranty, but in what I would save I could buy another board.

almost three, by the time you add shipping , but not all acceseries are included, so you may end up adding for a SLI bridge, or a back plate, or some for cables, all in all B stock is a great deal, especialy if you combine free shipping and 10% folding discount, but make sure you consider all your options. and total cost, compair what you gain to what you give up.

The X58 FTW3 offers USB 3/SATA III support, larger chipset heat sink with no fan for less noise and better VREG cooling (can be a problem on the original X58).  Do you think it's worth it?  It's up to you.  You don't get any additional overclocking capability really, aside from the better VREG cooling which can carry you further.  You can add a fan to the chipset heat sink if you need to.

Thanks all, still undecided but more informed if nothing else. Now to weigh the costs...
