Still waiting a couple more day to order a gtx 460. Im wondering if i would be happier with a msi hawk 5770 1gb 128-bit card or gtx 460 768mb 192bit card at 1920x1200. I know the gtx 460 has better performance then 5770 but which would start slowing down first at high resolutions because of memory, the 1gb 128bit or the 768mb 192bit memory interface?

The Memory Interface does not matter so much as its GDDR5 ! For that RES ideally buying today get a 1GB card at least, even if that means $30 more for the 460 1GB. Even then your still going to have low 25-30 FPS in new taxing DX11 games if you try add too much AA+AF (i.e. Metro 2033) and may have to drop to 1680x1050. At higher RES esp when you add above eyecandy I mention the 460 with 768MB will run out of steam 1st

Yeah really like helmutcheese said, get the 1 GB GTX460 version. With that resolution you'll be glad you did. I would still go for the 768mb version over the 5770 simply for the bigger memory bandwith.

The GTX 460 from what I've seen is more geared to compete with the 5830. And since the 5830 is better then the 5770 I don't think that the 5770 is even a good comparison to the 460 at all.

Both the GTX 460 768 MB and 1GB outperform the 5770 and 5830 in nearly every scenario, including high resolutions according to reviews. Get a GTX 460 but really go with the 1GB for that resolution.

http://www.evga.com/produ....asp?pn=01G-P3-1373-AR Buy this(when it becomes more available) Since it is overclocked and is near 800MHz Or wait for 475 which is going to be the complete version of the 460 1280-1536MB or 2GB

ugg, can't decide which gtx 460. I don't have much time to return my 5770 so i know i am probably going to be ordering in the next couple of days. I don't know if i should wait for the evga 1gb version(without ee) or just get a cheap gigabyte 1gb right now, also, like the look of the evga ones more. I want the lifetime warranty but im starting to care less about it. What should i do

All of the EVGA GTX 460 1GB cards feature the EE design. I'd wait for the EVGA. So if you don't care about the lifetime warranty you still get better customer service and better airflow in your case.

umm. so i guess im decided between evga 768mb sc or gigabyte 1gb. Really don't have time to wait. They both look like excellent quality. I hope some other brands come out real soon.

Well you can pre-order the EVGA GTX 460 1gig card on thier products page right now, better to get the 1gig at your res trust me you can see the reivews and a 1gig comes out on top over the 768 and you may even consider a second 1gig card later and go 3d vision=) 3d Vision is the awesome=)

don't want the external exhaust. In sli, would only 768mb be working? Looking at the benchmarks it still looks like its doing good

EVGA GTX 460 256bit 1GB GDDR5. It's worth every penny. This is the current generation 8800 gt 112 sp. Best bang for the buck. And as for the 5770 128 bit 1GB GDDR5...guys come on that's embarassing.

Can't go wrong with 460 1GB LOL @ LTIC1 @ExplosiveBacon: Actually, I think the EE would be better for overall temps since the air is exhausted out of the case. I could be wrong, but it seems to make sense to me.
