I was able to snag a PNY 5090 card from Amazon about an hour ago. If I can't queue one up I'll have a backup plan lol.

Very bad, it should not be much over 2000 probably in the 2100-2300 dollar range if you look up the MSI variants cost over the founders, the Rog Astral OC 4090 from asus is 2,799.99.

a real thing they have, and not a promise to deliver when they get it .... when ever it gets there....

Yeah, I took some gamble on the Amazon PNY card.
If I was able to queue an MSRP card up and the merchant from Amazon site refused to refund i would be in a pickle. But if the 5090 sells out in an instant I would have a card hopefully by the first week of February

You probably have a few months to save at the very least, this was the worst supply issue I've ever heard of. Supply was in single digits, I doubt they had enough for the employees, let alone customers.

I am glad I did the pre order at Amazon now, the 5090 shipped and will be here by Tuesday 😀 I read some shortage news last week and knew i would have to pay more if I want a 5090 in February.
