Updates ME for Intel security vulnerability:

BIOS 1.11 (E499 DARK/DARK KPE) / BIOS 1.12 (E497 FTW)

  • Update ME firmware to 14.1.60.1807v5.2 for Intel security vulnerability.

Please note that this BIOS does not support Rocket Lake-S processors.

Windows Installation
  • Download the correct .zip file below for your motherboard:
         131-CL-E499-KP - EVGA Z490 DARK KPE - v1.11
         131-CL-E499-KR - EVGA Z490 DARK - v1.11
         122-CL-E497-KR - EVGA Z490 FTW - v1.12
  • First go into your BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
  • Close all open programs.
  • Go into the folder where you unzipped this package and double-click update.bat
  • Press Y to start the flash process
  • DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE FLASH PROCESS
  • After the flashing is finished, the system will automatically shut down. Then power on again and go into BIOS to setup.
  • NOTE: If flash box immediately closes after flash attempt, the flash may need to be ran from a CMD prompt with administrator privileges or DOS version.

BIOS Installation
  • Extract the contents of .zip file to USB flash drive (must be formatted as FAT32)
  • Reboot the machine and go into the system BIOS
  • From the BIOS, navigate to the Save & Exit tab and open "Select BIOS File."
  • Select the .bin file you wish to flash.

Please let me know if anyone runs into problems with this update.  Thanks!

Hey, are there any updates on whether the most recent bios for this board supports manual RTL control or tRAS <28 like the Z590 board does?

evga z490 dark won't post with 2 sticks of ram
So I just got the Dark in and I'm having issues with two sticks of RAM.

RAM is Corsair DOMINATOR PLATINUM RGB 16GB (2x8GB)

My system was running just fine with an MSI Z690. Moved all the same parts to the Dark and with 2 sticks of RAM the system will turn on and start to cycle through the codes until it quickly hits 28. Then it restarts the post codes until hitting 28 again and so on. The system won't actually turn off but will just loop through the codes until 28 while remaining on.

When I remove the bottom stick, the system seems to be running just fine into windows and running benchmarks.

I've tried both sticks individually in the top RAM slot and they both work. I've also updated the bios to 1.10 and it didn't help.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Corsair DOMINATOR PLATINUM RGB 16GB (2x8GB)
