I am getting random BSODs only when playing games. I'm not yet convinced it is the video card because the error codes are not cosistent. When looking in Windows reliability monitor, I am showing hardware error codes 193, 117, 144, and 141. At first I thought it was iCue 5 because there was always several entries of Corsair iCue Components crashing along side the hardware errors. However, the last crash occurred without any entry related to iCue. 
 
I will be playing a game and all of the sudden the screen goes black. My Corsair keyboard did also drop (lights went off and was not responsive) the last time I got the BSOD, but nothing else did. I never let it go far enough to actually BSOD during the previous crashes. Instead, I force restarted my computer. I let the BSOD happen the last time and got a DPC_Watchdog_Violation 133. When analyzing the dmp file, it pointed to the Nvidia drivers. 
 
I previously DDU the Nvidia drivers and went back to a version that worked prior to when this issue started. I got the BSOD after this. I ran OCCT on vram and the gpu for 30 minutes each without error. I also ran Windows Memory Diagnostic without error.

Tried that initially. I have been having some very strange Windows startup behavior (black screen for about 30 seconds with a cursor before Windows login screen) that persisted through my last DDU and reinstall of Nvidia drivers. I had an older version of DDU that I was using. I downloaded the new version and went through the process again and now the login issue is fixed. I’m hoping it also resolves the BSOD, but it will take some time to see a difference.

I now got a black screen with GPU fans at 100%. Beginning to lean more towards it being a bad GPU. I updated my motherboard BIOS and set EXPO to 1 instead of 2. I’m also going to reseat the card and reconnect the power cable. I might even try replacing the power cable. If none of this works, I’ll put my old 3090ti back in. If that works then it is definitely a bad 4090.

It wouldn't hurt to try a different DP or HDMI cable.
