Yesterday, The Verge reported on issues plaguing MSI motherboards following the installation of the latest Windows update, known as KB5022951. This update has been linked to random occurrences of the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), displaying an enigmatic “UNSUPPORTED_PROCESSOR” message without further clarification. This complication has, thus far, exclusively affected MSI motherboards employing Intel 600 and 700 chipsets, particularly those that have undergone a BIOS update to support the upcoming Intel 14th Gen Core Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs. The root cause of this problem remains uncertain, and its potential connection to next-gen CPU compatibility is still unclear. Nevertheless, both Microsoft and MSI are actively addressing the issue and actively working towards a potential solution. MSI is presently engaged in a thorough investigation of the matter and has committed to providing updates on their progress.
 

Temporary Workaround
If you have already encountered this issue, KB5029351 might automatically be uninstalled to allow Windows to restore to normal. However, if KB5029351 is not automatically uninstalled, we recommend reverting your BIOS to the previous version and uninstalling KB5029351 from Windows.

Meanwhile, the company offers a temporary workaround for affected users, which hinges on the assumption that the update will be automatically rolled back and removed by the Windows OS.
