Hey Gang,
First time posting but I have a weird problem going on.I have a GeForce GTX 960 4GB.I was gaming and streaming a few days ago and my PC just died.
The next day I pulled the GPU and installed the factory one,PC started right up,so I figured I needed a new one.I purchased a 640W which is more then enough, did the step by
step installation, everything went smooth, reinstalled the 960,fan was running, shut it down, and this is when it get weird, when I connected the 6 pin the PC would not start.
I thought I had a had a bad new PCU,but on a whim I reinstalled the first PCU,and it worked fine.
So the problem is my GTX 960 is killing my Power Supply when the 6 Pin is connected,.
I'm not sure if its the MB,PCI slot or the graphics card itself,.just hoping I get some feedback before I try in in one of my other PC's.
    Thanks ahead of time !!

It sounds as if the GTX 960 has a short, and the PSU is in protection mode so that it doesn’t kill anything else.

If another GPU works without the 960 in the PC, that leans more toward a fault with the GPU.
