https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-geforce-rtx-4080-drops-to-1099-in-uk-100-below-current-msrp Who does not love competition? It is no longer just NVIDIA fighting with AMD for the best graphics card for money. With no cryptominers around and scalpers struggling to sell cards they already bought, retailers are now forced to think ahead by lowering the price on their RTX 4080 cards as well. One of the retailers in UK has just decreased the price for its RTX 4080 to £1,099.99 as part of their “Crispy Deal”. This price is actually lower than official RTX 4080 MSRP in UK at £1,199. The MSRP for UK has recently been updated to reflect current US Dollar value, but this offer is still £100 below this value.
According to UK price comparison services, the cheapest RTX 4080 right now is £1,199 Palit GameRock OmniBlack. The card offered by AWD-IT is just about the same card, but it also features some extra RGB lighting. Moreover, it is worth noting that this is not an OC model, so stock clocks are applied.
NVIDIA may consider lowering the price of RTX 4080 very soon. Such an adjustment could come just as AMD is set to launch its Radeon RX 7900 series next week. The flagship RDNA3 card poses a threat to NVIDIA’s second-best GPU in Ada Lovelace lineup. However, any such action would depend mainly on RDNA3 availability and that alone requires a bit question mark.
I think gamers are waiting to see what the new AMD GPUs will bring versus the NVIDIA RTX 4080. The RTX 4080 is overpriced in my personal opinion.
