Hey folks,

I just finished putting this new build together. It took a few tries to get to 2.03 on my z690 kingpin. 2.02 wasn't good enough with the 13600k. Kept getting 53 and 54 errors. Going to 2.03 solved that. Now, I get the very first bios loading image but it's stuck at A2 code. From the documentation, it's supposed to be ide detecting but it never completes. What can I try? I have m2 drive that is seeded well enough. I don't have any other drives. Removing the drive also gets me stuck at A2.

Yes, I was. Turned out that I didn't smash delete enough. I assumed a few times would do. For some reason I had to hit it like a YouTube asking to like and subscribe. I think it took a few dozen times before I got prompted into BIOS. Not really sure why. Once I got into BIOS, everything was fine from there. Just really, really odd.

Also, as I am sure a lot of people noted, getting BIOS to update was very annoying. Leaving the BIOS bin file as is didn't work. Had to rename it to EVGAE699 in order to work. And even then, only my 3rd BIOS option picked up 2.03. The others gave various E errors. E1 or E4. Maybe an E8 for good measure. Of all the USB sticks incl USB2.0, only the evga one worked for me. I tested out 8 from 3 different manufacturers. That was fun.

    Hi,

I had the exact same problem when i had my EVGA X99 FTW-K tried everything posted.

UNTIL the FIX came from a EVGA member.

Issue i was greeted by a A2 error code upon booting (Black screen with A2 error)
Looking up the manual did not helped me.

The fix was due to a corrupt CMOS battery either the battery was not working proper or was basically empty. This could be the case maybe the MB was laying in a store house for to long who knows.

Anyway as advised by the EVGA member i bought new CMOS battery brand Panasonic with the EXACT SAME battery specs as with the original CMOS battery.
And it solved my issue COMPLETELY If you still have this issue this might help you success!
